The event, attended by over 350 people, helped aid in the construction for a sports and recreation complex in the city of Ariel, which has a population of approximately 25,000, is located on the high ground in the West Bank and is referred to as the capital of Samaria. "This year’s event was very successful and we hope to continue gaining support for the City of Ariel,” said Brian Sherr, honoree and Greenberg Traurig LLP Fort Lauderdale co-managing shareholder. Dr. Uzi Landau, Israel's Minister of Public Security, served as the keynote speaker for the event. American Friends of Ariel was established in 1991 to help raise awareness and funding for The Ariel Development Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding facilities and services for education, culture, science, medicine and religion for those living in the community of Ariel, Israel. The annual dinner began in 1993 as a means to recognize those who have dedicated their time and efforts to the American Friends of Ariel and the Ariel Development Fund.
