Hayden Dempsey Joins Greenberg Traurig LLP

MIAMI, FL -- December 23, 2003 -- The former Director of Legislative Affairs for Governor Jeb Bush, attorney Hayden Dempsey, has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP as a shareholder in the Governmental Affairs Practice. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Dempsey was responsible for securing passage of the Governor Bush’s legislative agenda and coordinated legislative affairs for the Governor’s 20 agencies.

Dempsey also served as Deputy General Counsel for Governor Jeb Bush, where he provided legal advice to the Governor, Lt. Governor and executive office staff and represented the Governor in litigation. Dempsey also assisted in the direction and supervision of the legal offices of the Governor’s agencies. Dempsey’s experience also includes serving as Legal Counsel for Legislative Affairs for Governor Bush, where he provided legal advice regarding proposed and pending legislation and other legislative issues.

Earlier in his career, Dempsey served as a shareholder for a statewide law firm in Tallahassee, where he represented both private and public clients before the Florida Legislature and executive branch agencies. Dempsey also represented both public agencies and private clients in various legal matters including procurement and health care.

Dempsey received his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Law Center where he was a member of the Nova Law Review. He received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Wake Forest University. Dempsey is admitted to practice law in Florida.
