Greenberg Traurig LLP Continues Denver Expansion; Troy Eid Joins Firm
As a Shareholder
DENVER, CO -- November 7, 2003 -- Attorney
Troy A. Eid, who has spent
the last five years as Colorado Governor Bill Owens’ Chief Legal Counsel
and then Executive Director of the Department of Personnel and Administration,
has decided to return to private practice and will join the Denver office
of Greenberg Traurig LLP as a shareholder.

Eid’s practice concentrates on public law and government affairs. Once
at Greenberg Traurig LLP, he will continue his work on the civil service
reform effort that may end up on the state’s 2004 ballot.
Prior to joining the firm, Eid was the executive director for the Department
of Personnel and Administration for the State of Colorado where he was responsible
for 70,000 employees – the largest workforce in Colorado – and $8 billion
in real estate, including the Colorado State Capitol. Prior to this, Eid
served as chief counsel to Governor Owens where he was a member of the Columbine
High School Review Commission and was appointed to the prosecution task
force that reviewed the handling of the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation.
Before working with the governor, Eid spent five years as the executive
director and chief operating officer for InfoTEST International, Inc. in
Denver, a large non-profit Internet applications research and development
consortium.
Eid received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1986.
He received his law degree from The University of Chicago Law School in
1991 where he was the associate managing editor of The University of Chicago
Law Review. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Bar
Foundation, an advisory board member of the Natural Resources Law Center
at the University of Colorado School of Law, and the Governor’s Commission
on Science and Technology.
