Greenberg Traurig Adds Bankruptcy Practice to Houston Office

HOUSTON, TX -- June 21, 2006 -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig is pleased to announce the addition Shari L. Heyen, shareholder, and Jana K. Terry, associate, to the Texas bankruptcy practice. They join the Houston office of the firm from of Baker Hostetler.

Heyen has experience in complex commercial litigation matters and is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a lawyer. Her practice includes bankruptcy litigation, complex commercial litigation, creditors' rights and corporate reorganization matters. Heyen has represented numerous creditors' committees, debtors, bank groups, acquirers and other significant constituencies in national chapter 11 cases and workout proceedings. She has significant experience in the fiduciary litigation, prosecution and defense of fraudulent conveyance actions, and many other types of contested actions. She also represents insurance and premium finance companies. Heyen was recently lead counsel for a publicly traded automobile parts supplier in a complex chapter 11 restructuring case filed in Newark, New Jersey. She currently sits on the Board of the Association of Women Attorneys for the Houston Bar Association.

Terry practices in the area of complex commercial litigation with special emphasis on litigation involving corporate bankruptcies and creditors' rights. She has experience representing all types of constituents involved in bankruptcy filings under Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. While representing committees of unsecured creditors and administrative claimants, Terry has investigated and litigated claims against corporate directors and officers, professionals and financial institutions involved in fraudulent transactions and breaches of fiduciary duties prior to bankruptcy. She has also represented defendants in preferential and fraudulent transfer causes of action, potential buyers of bankruptcy estate assets, individual creditors, and Chapter 11 debtors. In addition to her federal court practice, Terry has an active practice in state court representing commercial clients in a broad range of cases.
