Greenberg Traurig’s Phoenix Office Expands Litigation Department
PHOENIX, AZ -- June 26, 2006 -- The international law firm of
Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced today that
André H. Merrett and
Marcy E. Mills have recently joined the firm’s litigation group.
Merrett joined the firm as Of Counsel and focuses his practice
primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, trademark litigation,
franchise law and product liability. He brings a substantial amount
of federal and state court trial experience to the firm, including
representation of the world’s largest hotel chain in various commercial
and trademark litigation; representation of one of the world’s premier
manufacturers of spinal surgical implants and devices in various
litigation and transactional matters; and representation of franchise
clients in litigation matters. Merrett will also assist the firm’s
franchise practice with the review of franchise agreements and franchise
offering circulars.

Merrett earned a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in
1989 and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1994.
He resides in Phoenix and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona
and the Iowa State Bar Association.
Mills joins the firm as an associate and focuses her practice
primarily in the area of commercial litigation and appellate advocacy.
Her experience includes environmental and products liability law.
While practicing in Northern California, Mills participated in a
major groundwater contamination trial. Prior to joining the firm,
she served as a staff attorney for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
in San Francisco.
“Marcy’s court experience gives her a unique insight into the
judge's perspective, as well as exposure to the broad range of substantive
issues that arise in the federal forum,” states Jeff Verbin.
Mills earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of
Arizona in 1993 and a J.D., from the Arizona State University College
of Law in 1996. She resides in Scottsdale and is a member of the
State Bar of Arizona, State Bar of California, and the Federal Bar
Association.
