“Paul has a very strong background in securities litigation and arbitration, and extensive experience representing clients in regulatory proceeding and administrative actions,” said Jeff Scott, co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office. “He will be an invaluable resource to our firm’s national broker-dealer clients, many of whom Paul already advises on a regular basis.”

Schumacher joins Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder. He formerly was a partner at Bingham McCutchen where he built a thriving practice in securities litigation and arbitration and represented clients in regulatory inquiries initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, the National Association of Securities Dealers and state securities regulators.

“Paul is a great addition to our well established securities practice in the East, giving us a strong bi-coastal practice,“ said Bradford Kaufman, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s national securities litigation group. “His 18-year focus on securities regulation, litigation and internal investigations and his extensive representation of broker-dealers make him the ideal candidate to strengthen and help build our practice in the West.”

Schumacher received his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School and a B.S. from Santa Clara University. His professional involvements include membership in the Securities Industry Association.
