Greenberg Traurig Orange County Expands Its Office With The Addition
Of Prominent Energy And Project Finance Lawyer Charles E. Schwenck
COSTA MESA, CA -- January 3, 2006 -- Greenberg Traurig, LLP has announced
Charles E. Schwenck, an energy and infrastructure project development, construction
and finance attorney, has joined the firm as a Shareholder in its expanding
Orange County office. Mr. Schwenck is the 29th lawyer to join the Orange
County office of Greenberg Traurig, which opened less than 2 years ago.
He brings to the firm a noted background of over 30 years of experience,
predominantly in the engineering, construction, energy, and infrastructure
industries.

Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig LLP, Mr. Schwenck was a partner in
the Los Angeles office of Kaye Scholer LLP, where he worked in the Corporate
and Finance Department. Mr. Schwenck devoted his practice there, and in
previous positions, primarily to the structuring, drafting, and negotiation
of arrangements for the development, construction, financing, fuel and feedstock
supply, product sales, ownership and operation of energy, infrastructure,
energy production facilities, product transportation systems, and other
commercial, industrial and public products, both domestically and internationally.
He has also represented developers of energy projects before federal and
state regulatory authorities and has been active in the representation of
major energy companies involved in mergers and acquisitions.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Schwenck served as Senior Vice President,
General Counsel, and a member of the Board of Directors of LG&E Power Systems.
He also served as General Counsel at Fluor Corporation and as Division Counsel
for one of the Bechtel Group's largest divisions.
Mr. Schwenck’s transactional work has taken him to more than thirty countries
on six continents, with the aggregated constructed value of the projects
for which he has been responsible exceeding $60 billion.
His regulatory and administrative representation in the independent power
and other energy areas has included representation before the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission, the Rural Electrification Administration and regulatory
authorities of more than a dozen states.

Mr. Schwenck received his Undergraduate Degree at University of California,
Berkeley, as well as, receiving his Juris Doctor with honors from the University
of California, Berkeley’s, Boalt Hall School of Law. Upon graduating, he
went on to receive his admission to California and currently is a member
of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association (Sections on Business,
International, Public Utility Law and the Forum Committee on the Construction
Industry), and the Federal Energy Bar Association.
