Greenberg Traurig Expands Israeli Business Team with the Addition of Mitchell C. Shelowitz

NEW YORK, NY-- March 29, 2006 -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced today that Mitchell Shelowitz has joined its New York office as Of Counsel in the Corporate & Securities department.

Mr. Shelowitz will bolster the Greenberg Traurig Israeli business practice, expanding the group’s capabilities in New York and Israel. Mr. Shelowitz joins a team with members in Greenberg Traurig’s South Florida, California, Atlanta, and Chicago offices, along with attorneys in Europe and Asia. In addition to providing a full array of traditional legal services, the team has been successful in matching Israeli companies with strategic partners, joint venture opportunities and other business-to-business connections within the firm’s international business network.

Mr. Shelowitz is admitted to the Israel and New York bars and practiced law in Israel for seven years. He is former general counsel and corporate secretary to Ceragon Networks Ltd., a leading global manufacturer of broadband wireless telecommunications systems. He is former legal counsel to Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a leading global manufacturer of VSAT satellite telecommunications systems.

Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Shelowitz was the Israeli Business Team Leader at Nixon Peabody LLP. Mitch is an international business lawyer with extensive experience drafting and negotiating agreements that are essential to the day-to-day business activities of small and large Israeli and U.S. companies. His experience includes representing Israeli companies in the technology, telecommunications, Internet, software, healthcare, biomedical, homeland security, wine, food and restaurant, cosmetics, banking and insurance industries.

Mr. Shelowitz is the founder of the Association of Corporate Counsel Israel (formerly known as ACCA Israel) and served as its president from 2000 to 2004. He was also the Israeli liaison to the Executive Committee of the ACC International Legal Affairs Committee from 2003 to 2004.

“Mitch’s stature in the Israeli business community and his deep understanding of Israeli business culture and client service expectations gives Greenberg Traurig another unique asset in making our Israeli business practice second to none in providing legal and business counsel to Israeli companies,” said Gary M. Epstein, who chairs Greenberg Traurig’s Corporate and Securities Practice.

“Mitch’s experience complements the efforts of our entire group,” commented Bob Grossman, who is active in the Israel practice. “Through our work in Israel and participation in numerous conferences, we know that the legal needs of Israeli companies in the technology, life sciences and telecommunications sectors are significant. We’re pleased to have Mitch join us to help meet those needs and to provide his Israeli clients with the deep resources at Greenberg Traurig, including intellectual property, tax, securities and corporate governance.”

“We welcome Mitch and his wealth of experience in Israel," added Meital Stavinsky, who coordinates the firm's Israel practice, is admitted to practice law in both Israel and NY, and is the former director of legal and business development at Gilat Latin America Inc. "As our Israel practice develops and grows it is wonderful to be able to offer our clients our expanded resources."
