Greenberg Traurig Expands Israeli Business Team with the Addition
of Mitchell C. Shelowitz
NEW YORK, NY-- March 29, 2006 -- The international law firm Greenberg
Traurig, LLP announced today that
Mitchell Shelowitz has joined
its New York office as Of Counsel in the Corporate & Securities
department.
Mr. Shelowitz will bolster the Greenberg Traurig Israeli business
practice, expanding the group’s capabilities in New York and Israel.
Mr. Shelowitz joins a team with members in Greenberg Traurig’s South
Florida, California, Atlanta, and Chicago offices, along with attorneys
in Europe and Asia. In addition to providing a full array of traditional
legal services, the team has been successful in matching Israeli
companies with strategic partners, joint venture opportunities and
other business-to-business connections within the firm’s international
business network.
Mr. Shelowitz is admitted to the Israel and New York bars and
practiced law in Israel for seven years. He is former general counsel
and corporate secretary to Ceragon Networks Ltd., a leading global
manufacturer of broadband wireless telecommunications systems. He
is former legal counsel to Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a leading
global manufacturer of VSAT satellite telecommunications systems.
Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Shelowitz was the Israeli
Business Team Leader at Nixon Peabody LLP. Mitch is an international
business lawyer with extensive experience drafting and negotiating
agreements that are essential to the day-to-day business activities
of small and large Israeli and U.S. companies. His experience includes
representing Israeli companies in the technology, telecommunications,
Internet, software, healthcare, biomedical, homeland security, wine,
food and restaurant, cosmetics, banking and insurance industries.
Mr. Shelowitz is the founder of the Association of Corporate
Counsel Israel (formerly known as ACCA Israel) and served as its
president from 2000 to 2004. He was also the Israeli liaison to
the Executive Committee of the ACC International Legal Affairs Committee
from 2003 to 2004.
