Mayor Nutter and the City of Philadelphia are joining with Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), Israel’s leading technology and life sciences association, to host an exciting conference in Philadelphia. Partnering with the City are Comcast Corporation, Drexel University, Greenberg Traurig, the Philadelphia Israel Chamber of Commerce, and many leading corporations, institutions, and organizations in the region. The Conference will afford a select group of Israeli companies an opportunity to meet with leading corporations from Philadelphia and the east coast of the U.S. to explore strategic partnerships and expansion of their business.
Philadelphia is one of America’s leading cities when it comes to healthcare and healthcare IT. The City is home to a number of world-class institutions including the #1 children’s hospital in the U.S., Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Jefferson Health System and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, making it a natural hub for established and emerging companies in this sector. Drexel University is the host of an exciting incubator focused on early stage healthcare IT companies, in partnership with Dreamit Ventures and Independence Blue Cross, one of the largest healthcare insurance companies in the US.
Comcast Corporation is one of the largest media companies in the world and chose Philadelphia for their world-class headquarters. Next to its headquarters it is developing the $1.2 billion Comcast Innovation and Technology Center in Philadelphia, projected to be one of the tallest buildings in the U.S. The Center will employ 1,500 new employees and promises to be a game-changer with the most talented tech workers in the country seeking to live and work in Philadelphia. In addition, Philadelphia’s technology sector is growing fast with a vibrant startup culture, growing VC community, and a number of well-established businesses investing in this sector.
