Changes for L and E visa holders

The Senate recently passed legislation which would:

  • extend work authorization to the spouses of L and E visa holders
  • reduce the amount of time an individual has to work for a related foreign entity in order to qualify for L status from one year to six months.

The legislation had been passed earlier by the House and is expected to be signed by the President after the New Year.
