U.S. Embassies Close in Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia

Due to credible and specific information regarding possible terrorist attacks, the U.S. Embassies in Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well as the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, Indonesia have been closed. These embassies and consulates will remain closed until further notice. The U.S. Embassy in Cambodia has also closed as a safety measure in light of the approaching anniversary of September 11. Individuals who were planning to go to these U.S. posts for visa applications or other matters are advised to contact the post to determine when they will reopen or make alternate arrangements. We will provide further updates on these closings as the information becomes available.
