Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

On February 4, 2003, the parliament in Belgrade voted to dissolve the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It will become part of the federation of Serbia and Montenegro. The new federation is to a great extent a result of pressure from the European Union in an attempt to halt the continued break up in the Balkans. Changes in consular procedures as related to immigrant and nonimmigrant visa processing at the U.S. embassy and consulate are likely to follow. If you think these changes will affect the processing of your visa application we recommend that you consult with immigration counsel. GT will continue to provide updates as they become available.
