Visa Processing in London

As a result of the recent State Department cable, London has confirmed that all visa applicants must be interviewed unless they are under the age of 16 or over 60. In addition, visa applications can no longer be submitted via mail from the U.S. ALL visa applicants must be in the U.K. when they apply.

Only the following applicants can apply by mail:

  • Under the age of 16
  • Aged 60 or over and were not born in or are a passport holder of one of the seven countries designated as state sponsors of terrorism. (The seven countries are Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.)
  • Applying for an O, P, or I visa, or are airline crew applying for C-1/D visas.

ALL applicants, regardless of age or sex, are required to submit forms DS-156 and DS-157.
