DOS Instructs Posts to Prioritize Interview For Student and Exchange Visitor Visa Applicants

The Department of State issued a memo instructing all its posts to give priority to students and exchange visitors in the professor, student, and research scholar categories when scheduling in-person interviews this summer. The Department is sensitive to the impact on US academic and research institutions if students are not able to enter the US and attend classes on time. The department wants to avoid the kinds of delays in the entry of students and scholars that it experienced last year.
