Rejection Rates for U.S. Visa Applications

The Bureau of Consular Affairs at the Department of State has provided data which covers the rejection figures on U.S. visa applications for FY1999 to FY2003. The current visa application is currently $100, up from a mere $20 in 1998. The data provided by the Bureau of Consular Affairs indicates a huge drop in the number of applications submitted after the terrorist attacks on 9/11 but yet a staggering increase in the number of rejections for each visa category as a result of additional security measures implemented post 9/11 in the screening of visa applicants.
