New Version of Employment Authorization Card (Form I-766)

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) expects to begin issuing a new version of Employment Authorization Card (“EAD card”) later this month.

The new EAD card is designed to combat counterfeiting and fraudulent use. The new EAD card has several enhancements such as a feature facilitating forensic examination, two-dimensional barcode, a magnetic strip to determine the card’s authenticity, and references to the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS instead of its former name of Immigration and Naturalization Service.
