Bridge for Students Seeking F-1 Status

It is anticipated that the Federal Register will issue a notice this week regarding the continued status of foreign nationals who are currently in the US in duration of status (F-1 or J-1 status) who have applied for change of status to H-1B, but who will run out of their current status before new quota numbers are available for fiscal 2005 which starts on October 1, 2004. It is expected that these applicants will be granted the authority to remain in the US beyond their authorized status until their H-1B status is effective. As soon as further information is available, Greenberg Traurig will publish an update.
