H-1B Visas Still Available for Advanced Degree Holders

As of June 29, 2005, The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has received a total of 8,069 H-1B applications toward the Congressionally-mandated exemption cap for fiscal year 2005. The 8,069 H-1B applications will count toward the 20,000 visas available to foreign workers with advanced degrees from U.S. academic institutions. This means that companies wishing to hire individuals possessing a U.S. advanced degree can file for an H-1B now with an immediate start date.
