Senate Subcommittee on Immigration's Request to USCIS to Recapture Chilean and Singaporean Numbers for Fiscal Year 2005 is Rejected

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") has indicated that it will not follow a request from the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration to add unused H-1B numbers earmarked for Chilean and Singaporean nationals in fiscal year 2005 back to the general H-1B quota for 2005. This is another defeat for employers hoping to be able to sponsor foreign nationals in temporary professional positions this fiscal year.
