February 2006 Visa Bulletin Released
The February 2006 Visa Bulletin released recently provides some improvement
in the progression of priority dates for categories that have retrogressed.
The February Bulletin reports the continued retrogression of visa numbers,
although priority date advancement has improved since the original October
Visa Bulletin when visa retrogression was announced for second and third
preference workers. While some categories have advanced one full calendar
year, other categories, such as third preference all other nationalities,
advanced three weeks to April 22, 2001. The three week jump was impressive
and important for those workers caught up in the pre-April 30, 2001 filing
rush, moving them closer to a current priority date.
The complete February Visa Bulletin can be
viewed here Since the release of the October Bulletin, Greenberg Traurig
has continued to partner with industry coalitions and key Congressmen to
advocate for immigration relief from these annual quotas on employment-based
immigration.
