The Holidays are Fast Approaching: Remember to Obtain Advance Parole (Travel Document)

It is important that people with pending application for adjustment of status (I-485), a pending application for relief under Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act, a pending asylum application, or with an approved application for Temporary Protected Status, to obtain Advance Parole before traveling abroad.

Advance Parole is permission to re-enter the United States after traveling abroad in order to continue processing for adjustment of status. Individuals must be approved for Advance Parole before departing the U.S.

Some exceptions to this rule may apply. Therefore, please consult with your GT attorney for further information and prior to traveling outside the United States.
