ONLY G OR H SERIES IRAQI PASSPORTS ARE VALID FOR TRAVEL TO THE U.S.
On January 8, 2007, the U.S. Government announced that S series Iraqi
passports are no longer valid for travel to the U.S. Also, the
government of Iraq also invalidated its own M and N series passports.
Per the U.S. Embassy in Damascus, Syria's website, the only Iraqi
passports valid for travel to the United States are passport numbers
beginning with the letters G or H. U.S. Embassies and Consulates will
not be able to issue visas into series S, M or N Iraqi passports nor
will the Department of Homeland Security allow bearers of these
passports entry to the United States. This notice can be found at the

Per the notice on the U.S. Embassy in Damascaus, Syria's website, Iraqi
citizens who have valid U.S. visas in S series passports may not travel
to the U.S. on that visa. The holder of an S series Iraqi passport must
obtain a G series passport and apply for a new visa.

Iraqi citizen that holds a series M or N Iraqi passport that contains a
valid U.S. visa may travel to the U.S. on that visa if they also present
a valid series G or H Iraqi passport.
