USCIS Transfers I-485s to NSC and TSC

In anticipation of the next phase of the USCIS’ Bi-Specialization program, I-485 adjustment of status applications are being transferred from the California Service Center to the Nebraska Service Center, and from the Vermont Service Center to the Texas Service Center. The first phase of the USCIS’ Bi-Specialization program was implemented on April 1, 2006 requiring all of the Petitions for a Nonimmigrant Worker (Form I-129) to be sent to the Vermont Service Center and Immigrant Petitions for an Alien Worker (Form s I-140) to be sent to the Nebraska Service Center.

Among these newly transferred I-485 applications, are cases that subject to visa retrogression and security checks. When a transfer occurs, a transfer notice will be sent and the USCIS online system will be updated. The transferred cases will go into the queue based on the original filing date and not the transfer date. GT will continue to monitor updates and advise clients of transfers accordingly.
