Immigration Reform Bill On Hold For Now
The Senate halted debate on the immigration bill after weeks of
debate and bi-partisan collaboration. We believe that final passage of
the legislation is still a strong and distinct possibility. The Senate
and the Administration are committed to pushing the bill through and may
do so as soon a the end of this month. This temporary set-back gives
both sides of the aisle time to re-group and let some steam off.
We urge the Senate to continue its difficult work. The nation must have
comprehensive immigration reform to address real national security,
economic security and humanitarian issues.
Greenburg Traurig will post any new information regarding the
immigration reform bill on our website as it becomes available. Also,
attached is a press release
from the Essential Worker Immigration Coalition with a further
explanation of the events which took place in the Senate last night.
