Projecting Forward to October 2007 EB Immigrant Visa Cutoff Dates

The State Department Chief of Immigrant Visa Control and Reporting provided informal projections on employment-based visa availability for the October 2007 Visa Bulletin. It is expected that availability for the First and Second Preference categories for all countries will be similar to the recently released September 2007 Bulletin. However, the Third Preference categories are projected to make a big jump back, landing in a similar place as they were in the January 2007 Visa Bulletin. The cut-off for All Chargeability and China categories is expected to be August 2002 and India at May 2001. Estimates have the Other Worker category to be cut off at October 2001 and the Employment Fifth Preference to be current for all countries. The Department of State indicated that projections for Fourth Preference category are not yet available.
