Employers Must Begin Using New Employment Eligibility Verification Form by December 26, 2007

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is set to issue a Federal Register notice, as soon as today, stating that employers must transition to the revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) not later than December 26, 2007.

On November 7th, USCIS announced the availability of the revised version Form I-9, which will be the only version valid for use after December 26.  Both the revised form and the "Handbook for Employers, Instructions for Completing the Form I-9" are available online at www.uscis.gov. To order forms, call USCIS toll-free at 800-870-3676.

Please see the Greenberg Traurig News Flash of November 8th for more information about the revised version of the Form I-9.
