Matamoros Makes Changes to TN & E Visa Procedures

Effective September 10, 2008, the United States Consulate in Matamoros, Mexico requires TN visa applicants to schedule an appointment for the visa interview either by telephone or online, and no longer accepts case-related documents prior to the interview. Visa appointment contact information is available on the consular web site at http://matamoros.usconsulate.gov/matamoros/consular.html.

Additionally, the consulate requests that E visa applicants confine their submitted documentation to that which clearly demonstrates compliance with applicable laws and regulations. “Excess or unclear documentation” such as unverified financial statements and ambiguous cash deposit slips can cause processing delays. Examples of acceptable documentation can be found on the consulate’s web site at http://matamoros.usconsulate.gov/matamoros/treaty_tradertreaty_investor_visas_e.html.
