ICE Arrests 16 in Idaho

On December 4, 2008, ICE arrested sixteen workers employed by Idaho Truss & Component Company, a manufacturer of building components for wood-framed buildings, in Nampa, Idaho. The sixteen individuals, who are male nationals of Mexico and were arrested on alleged administrative immigration violations, are being held in detention pending immigration hearings. According to ICE, the investigation began upon reviewing employment records of workers involved in the building of military housing at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, which led to evidence that certain individuals might have used fraudulent identity documents and social security numbers. In its news release, ICE stated that it received assistance in the investigation from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Metro Violent Crimes and Gang Task Force in Nampa.
