Department of Homeland Security Adds Malta to the Visa Waiver Program

On December 30, 2008, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a Final Rule in the Federal Register, adding Malta to the Visa Waiver Program. Citizens and nationals of Malta may apply for admission to enter the United States as nonimmigrants for business or pleasure for a period of 90 days or less.

Other countries designated in the Visa Waiver Program include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
