OMB Extends Approval of Form I-9

On August 27, 2009, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) extended its approval of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification to August 31, 2012. The revision date on the latest version of the form now reads August 7, 2009, although employers may continue to use the February 2, 2009 version. The latest version of Form I-9 can be found on the USCIS website.

Pursuant to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA), employers are required to complete a valid version of the I-9 form for all employees hired after November 6, 1986 to document their authorization to legally work in the United States.
