U.S. Intensifies Screening for Travelers From 14 Nations
The Obama Administration has announced that citizens of 14 nations,
Afghanistan, Algeria, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria,
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen who are flying to
the United States will be subjected indefinitely to intense screening at
airports worldwide in the aftermath of the Christmas Day bombing plot on
a jet-liner bound for Detroit International Airport.
At the same time, American citizens and most other travelers to the
United States who are not flying through those nations will no longer
automatically face the full-range of intensified security that had been
imposed after the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight,
officials said.
