Changes in USCIS Filing Locations

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has recently changed filing locations to a Lockbox facility for several of its application forms. Filing locations for the I-102, I-360, I-485, I-765 and I-824 forms were changed at the end of February 2010. Most recently, on March 19, 2010, USCIS announced alterations to filing locations for the Form I-131 on March 19, 2010. The changes mean that USCIS Lockbox facilities will receive an increased number of incoming applications. In its news release regarding the Form I-131, USCIS stated, "By centralizing form and fee intake to a Lockbox environment, the agency can provide customers with more efficient and effective initial processing of applications and fees."

Applications on Form I-131 sent to the wrong location will be forwarded by USCIS to the correct filing facility through Monday, April 19, 2010, after which they will be returned to the sender.

Additional information and updated filing instructions can be found here and here.
