USCIS and Vermont Service Center Announce FY 2011 H-1B Cap Numbers

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) stated in an April 8, 2010 news release that it “continues to accept H-1B nonimmigrant petitions subject to the Fiscal Year (FY 2011) cap.”  The agency reported that as of April 8, 2010 it had received 13,500 petitions toward the 65,000 H-1B regular cap count for FY 2011, and 5,600 petitions toward the 20,000 advanced degree exemption count.

Earlier in the week, on April 6, 2010, the Vermont Service Center announced that 9,525 cap-subject petitions for FY 2011 had been filed with the Center, with 6,791 of the petitions counting toward the regular cap and 2,734 toward the advance degree exemption count.  The California Service Center has not yet released the number of petitions it has received in connection with the FY 2011 H-1B cap.
