I-9 Stakeholder Engagement regarding the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9

On November 2, 2010, the USCIS Verification Division and Office of Public Engagement (OPE) hosted a stakeholder engagement regarding the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.  GT Shareholders joined individual Stakeholders at the meeting held in Washington DC.  We were given the opportunity to comment on format, layout, language, and accompanying guidance for each section of the Form, as well as on issues surrounding the List of Acceptable Documents, the Form I-9 verification process, and potential educational resources that would assist in proper completion of the Form.  USCIS also indicated that the agency is in the early stages of drafting a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the Form.  A detailed Executive Summary of the issues discussed at the I-9 Stakeholder Engagement was released on December 6, 2010.
