DOS Notifies USCIS of Exhaustion of Employment-Based Visa Numbers for FY2011

The Department of State Immigrant Visa Control Office informed U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on September 15, 2011 that all employment-based immigrant visa numbers have been distributed for Fiscal Year 2011.   Each fiscal year (October 1st – September 30th), at least 140,000 employment-based immigrant visas are made available to qualified applicants who seek to immigrate based on an offer of employment. USCIS will continue to accept adjustment of status applications based on the September 2011 visa bulletin through the remainder of September.  Fiscal Year 2012 will start on October 1, 2011.
