Georgia Couple Arrested, Indicted on Harboring Charges

In a multi-agency home raid conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Criminal Investigations Division, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Sheriff’s Office of Columbia County, Georgia, a couple living in Savannah, Georgia was arrested on multiple charges stemming from their construction business: four counts each of harboring illegal aliens and one count each of money laundering conspiracy, with one of the individuals also being charged with ten counts of money laundering. The individuals, who now stand to face trial, were indicted by a federal grand jury during the first week of November and made a federal court appearance on November 9th. Each of the crimes with which they are charged carries a prison sentence of up to ten years and fines of up to $250,000.00.
