USCIS Extends TPS for Nicaraguans and Hondurans

On November 4, 2011, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Nicaraguans and Hondurans for eighteen months beginning January 6, 2012, through July 5, 2013.

Based upon the understanding that those re-registering may not receive their new Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) prior to the expiration of their current ones, USCIS is extending the current EADs with January 5, 2012 expiration dates for six months through July 5, 2012.

Individuals seeking to maintain their TPS must file their application packages during the 60-day registration period of November 4, 2011 through January 5, 2012.

For more information, visit the TPS home page on the USCIS website.
