U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that as of November 22, 2011, USCIS has received a sufficient number of H-1B petitions to reach the statutory cap of 65,000 for the fiscal year 2012. USCIS will reject the FY 2012 cap subject petitions received after November 22, 2011 and will continue to accept and process H-1B petitions that are otherwise cap exempt. Also, as of October 19, 2011, USCIS has reported that it has receipted more than 20,000 H-1B petitions for aliens with advanced degrees.
