February 2012 Visa Bulletin

The Department of State (DOS) has issued the visa bulletin for the month of February 2012. As it has in recent months, the China and India employment second-preference cut-off date has significantly advanced. From December 2011 to February 2012, the employment second-preference cut-off date advanced from March 15, 2008 to January 1, 2010. DOS says it has continued its aggressive movement of the cut-off date because U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has reported an "extremely low" rate of new adjustment of status filings. DOS notes that this action greatly increases the potential for an eventual retrogression of the cut-off at some point during 2012.
