H1B Cap: First numbers reported show increase in demand

The H-1B cap season started April 2, 2012. We have already learned from USCIS that 17,400 cap-subject H-1B petitions have been received as of April 9, 2012. 8,200 petitions were receipted for prospective workers who have been awarded a U.S. advanced degree and already, this is about twice the number of filings received last year. In light of this increase in demand, it is recommended that cap petitions are filed as soon as possible while numbers remain available. If you need assistance with a cap subject case please contact your GT attorney. GT LAW will also continue monitoring and reporting on availability as the season progresses.
