The Office of Special
Counsel for Immigration-Related
Unfair Employment Practices
(OSC), is part of the Civil
Rights Division of the United
States Department of Justice.
The OSC is responsible for
enforcing the Immigration Reform
and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA)
and attempts to protect
individuals from discriminations
based on their citizenship or
immigration status. In its
latest (Winter 2010)
newsletter, the OSC touched on
several compliance issues,
including stepped up interagency
collaboration with DOL, HUD ICE
and USCIS. The OSC’s complete
